The SCHLAGWERK Balaphone combines the rich and colourful sound of original West African instruments with European manufacturing standards. The 12 sound bars made from Padouk wood are connected to the resonance body with a rubber band, making it impossible for the bars to drop out, not even under heavy use. Each of the eight metal tongues is separately tunable on a scale from D to g. The instruments are pre-tuned in our factory to the F major pentatonic scale.   MA 840 - Marimbula 8 tones, 60x20x40 cm It can be played by hand or with mallets. The Table Tubes can be played lying on the table or floor as well as hanging on the wall. The sound tubes are tuned to the F-major pentatonic scale, so every sequence of tones results in a melody.
